Government College, Safidon (Jind) was accepted on 1st July 1976. Basically, it was accepted as a private college named as Adarsh College, Safidon. Taken over by the State Govt. in January 1980. It is one of the premier institutions accepted to impart & offer in the area of higher education for the deserving applicants and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is located at the Jind Road, Safidon, State Highway 14, just 35 km's away from Panipat towards West. The Puranic City of Safidon (present name) is situated in the land of Mahabharata (48 Kosas) at the periphery of the top Kurubhumi near the Thrikhu Theerth, the place of Yaksha. The college is associated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized along the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in March 1989 under Act, 1956. It is re-accredited through National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (in 1st Cycle) on 16th September 2003. Since its inception, the college was accepted as a private institute named Adarsh College, Safidon, functioning under the energetic leadership and visionary guidance of the socially committed elderly learned people of this Pauranic and progressive city, Sarpadaman Nagar. The institute came into existing because of dire need of study for the young generation from the city and its surrounding rural background. The college is well-known for promoting high educational standards, organizing sprate cultural activities, arranging athletics and other games, candidates securing places in the University merit list, so much so that the parents eagerly look forward to the admission of their wards herein.
