Central University of Rajasthan was came into existence on 3 March 2009 by an Act of Parliament. It is a central university located in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. With a strong emphasis on scientific, technological and social education as well as research CURAJ has ten schools, twenty academic departments and one community college covering Management, Technology, Science, Humanities, Commerce, Public Policy and Social Science programs. It includes students from over 23 states with total student enrolment at the university exceeds 1700. On the Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway (NH-8) CURAJ is located which is 83 km from Jaipur and 40 km from Ajmer.
History
With two PG programmes namely M.Sc./M.A university was started in 2009-10. It started six new PG programmes and shifted to R.K. Patni College, Kishangarh in 2010-11. In 2013-14 doctoral and undergraduate programmes were started. University moved to its present location in 2012-13 on Jaipur-Ajmer Expressway (NH-8) at Bandar Sindri village of Ajmer district. University had moved to its current location by July 2012 and construction had started in 2011 and in 2010 land was donated by the Government of Rajasthan.
