Chebrolu Hanumaiah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CHIPS) was set up in the year 2005 on the name of its general public, "Nagarjuna Education Society Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences" (NESIPS), as the seventh foundation under the magnanimous association of Nagarjuna Education Society (NES). Subsequent to getting endorsement from AICTE to begin B.Pharmacy course for an admission of 60 seats, NESIPS ceremoniously begun its first group class take a shot at 27th November, 2005 at the premises of its parent (sister) association, J.K.C. School, where the underlying working of foundation occurred. On seventh December, 2005, the then Vice Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University, Prof. Balamohan Das, introduced the recently assembled drug store obstruct at J.K.C.College grounds. On fourteenth November, 2005, Sri.Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, Member of Parliament and adored guide of NES, established framework stone to the proposed perpetual structure for the drug store school at Chandramoulipuram, Chowdavaram, other than RVR&JC College of Engineering. A three storied structure of roughly 50,000 square feet was prepared and "Gruhapravesam" was performed by the individuals from NES on second October, 2006. In the year 2007, NESIPS got endorsement from AICTE, Acharya Nagarjuna University and Government of A.P to change its name as Chebrolu Hanumaiah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CHIPS) and furthermore transfered all the institutional related exercises to its lasting structure.
