Established on 29th July 1958, Arya Vidyapeeth College, is one of the beacons in the field of education in Assam, catering to the requirements of higher education and tapping the intellectual potential of the youth of the entire North East India. Tomaso Ma Jyotirgamaya (Let the advent of light remove all darkness) are the opening words of the vision statement of the College. Arya Vidyapeeth College is the fruit of the missionary zeal and relentless efforts on the part of a team of exceptionally farsighted visionaries led by Late Giridhar Sarma, an exceptional personality, renowned academician and litterateur of repute. Luminaries like Mahendra Mohan Choudhury (former Chief Minister of Assam and Governor of Punjab), Prof. Radha Kanta Das, a prominent mathematician  of the region, educationist Sarat Chandra Goswami and some other leading citizens were involved in this noble endeavour.

Since its inception, the College has consistently been able to meet the challenges and ever changing demands in the field of higher education. Admission Process of Arya Vidyapeeth College

The college offers B.A in ten subject specializations, B.Sc in six subject specializations, BBA and B.Sc in Information Technology. The selection to these courses is solely based on merit of class 12th qualifying examination and no entrance test shall be conducted.

The college also runs postgraduate course of M.Sc in four subject specializations. The admissions to M.Sc Geography and Chemistry shall be affected on the basis of entrance test conducted by the college for students applying from a University other than Gauhati University.

Students from Gauhati University applying for M.Sc courses will be given admissions through merit.

All original documents such as Mark sheets of all the Semesters/Parts of B.Sc., Caste certificate, and Gap Certificate need to be produced at the time of admission.

The admission shall be conferred on payment of fees.

Prospectus along with application form can be obtained from the College Office on payment of INR 300 in cash from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM.The eligibility of the course is to pass class 12 from any state or Central board examination in any stream for geography And for the admission I took the entrance examination which was held by the college itself 2) The application file will be in the website and the registration fees was Rs 300 it might vary according to your domicile state ,and application dates and information will be in the official website of the college. 3) The only benifit for reservation is that you will get addmission if you don't have chartbuster percentage or score. 4) Everything was great in the addmission process except that the website doesn't told about the syllabus and what to read for the entrance examination it must be improved. 

Arya Vidyapeeth College Facilities

Boys Hostel

The college has double storied building of College Hostel that exists was built in 1964 with the funds of the University Grant Commission, the Assam Government, and the college itself. Since then this hostel has been an important Centre for students coming from different parts of the region with a thirst for learning. The two stories R.C.C building comprises a total of 31 rooms that accommodate 122 borders of higher secondary, degree, and Master’s degree students of the college.

Gym

The colleg has a well-equipped gymnasium hall with modern and sophisticated instruments.

Library

The College Library started its functioning in 1943 at Kamrup Academy School and later on shifted to the new building in the year 1958 and accommodated in the present building in the year 2000. In the same year, the library was renamed as "Hem Barua Library" after the name of its 3rd Principal late Hem Barua, a noted parliamentarian and educationist of the country.

Sports

The colleg has A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. Believing in the above adage the institution provides all kinds of encouragement and opportunities to the students to develop their proficiency in sports. Students of the college have proved their competence in sports like cricket, football, badminton, basketball, boxing, tennis, judo, body-building, and table-tennis both at the state and national levels.

Cafeteria

The College Canteen is running smoothly to provide food at a subsidized rate mainly to the college students and to the other college communities. The canteen is functioning from 6th April 2012. The canteen was inaugurated by Dr. Tabu Ram Said, president of the Governing body of the College.

I.T Infrastructure

The college has Computer center is set up at the college campus. The basic objective of the center is to provide students with the college the basic knowledge of computers as well as certificate courses on Computer basics and computer languages.

Auditorium

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

Laboratories

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

Alumni Associations

The college has an Alumni Association with its permanent office on the College campus. It holds periodic meetings to keep in touch with the Alumni. The Alumni Association has completed a number of projects in the College. The College appeals to all ex-student to join the Alumni Association and to contact the office-bearers.

Convenience Store

The college has a stationery corner, located ar an easily accessible area near the entrance of the college, provides stationery items, books, magazines, and other necessary items. Photocopy and DTP facilities are also available for students and employees of the college at a reasonable rate.

Arya Vidyapeeth College Placements

No, there is no job opportunities in our college, it definitely does help to get some internship but i never applied to any of them. But our department specifically conducts seminars where our alumnis lectures on their work and encourages current students to join them. I find it very useful and enjoyable most of the times.Our college at present dosent provide internship facility at present. But placement drives are good. Companies come every year are recruit a lot of students. Companies such as tata, infosis habe been recorded to recruit students.The college doesn't offer professional courses but only general courses and therefore it is hard to find a very good placement immediately after completing B.Sc. or B.A. However there is a functional placement cell in the college and some companies do come for requirement. No, it doesn't provide any internship.We don't have placement opportunities but have a wider scope to explore our desired jobs. We have had politicians, singers, artists, actors, as the Alma mater of our college. Students from our college have gone for higher studies and achieved great heights in life.There is no placement cell in the college. Most of the students can get placement on the basis of their capabilities and drive.Sometimes some companies come to hire students from our college. Students do internship from different reputed institution throughout the country such as IIT Guwahati.

The placements and job opportunities is not that good of our college. The companies which come over are local companies and do not have much exposure for the freshers.
