Admission Process of Assam Engineering College 

10+2 qualified students can apply for admission to the course. Minimum 50% marks should be secured in the final examination. 

Candidates ranked within the first 10 positions in the Assam Higher Secondary (Science Stream) Examination must apply for direct admission within 10 days of publication of examination results to the Director of Technical Education, Assam.

Candidate should be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.

A candidate seeking admission B.E. Lateral will be admitted to B.E program in 3rd semester.

Minimum marks of 55% for General & OBC/MOBC/SC/ST and for SC/ST, 50% minimum marks are needed for eligibility.

Reservation is as per Govt. Norms.

Final GATE scores will be considered for the final Merit list.

Candidates seeking admission in MCA have to appear in Assam JMEE.

Our placement scenario is well good. We have an on-campus placement. We can seat for placement in our last year Almost 70-75% of students of every branch are placed. It's the highest package is 30lpa And the average package is 7lpa.From the sixth semester students are allowed to sit at interviews for college placements. Many companies visited this time like OIL, NRL, balco Ltd Etc. The highest package was about 17 LPA. The students getting placement in oil have the highest percentage.The students are generally available for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like ONGC, BALCO, etc recruit a large number of students. The average package is around 10LPA and the highest package is around 20LPA. Every year, almost 80% of students get placed.After completing or while in 8th sem students are eligible for campus placement. There are so many companies like Maruti, OIL, IOCL, etc. are visited, and no. of offers. The average package is around 40k.Students become eligible for placement after 6th semester. The highest packaged salary offered was 24 lpa provided recently by NRL. The lowest was 4 lpa provided by cognizant. Every year 50-60 % of students get placed here which is also a great thing. I plan to just study a little bit higher likewise doing MTech or other stuff.Since I am a freshman, I don't have much knowledge about placements but as far as I know, students become eligible for placement during the 6th semester. Both core and tech companies visit the college each year ranging from companies like Cognizant, and Dalmiya to various renowned PSUs like Oil, and NRL. The average package ranges from 5-6 lakhs each year.The placements are very good. The college provides good placement. You can apply for placement from the 7th semester. NRL, Wipro, oil, cognizant, etc are some of the companies that visit the college for placements.
