Started in 1964,the classes were first held in borrowed premises of the Mohurris' Training Institute at Chandmari with only seventy five students site at Bamunimaidan, Guwahati. With financial assistance from the U.G.C. and the State Government, the College at present offers Higher Secondary and Degree Courses in three streams: Arts, Science and Commerce.
