Anakapalle is a big commercial Town with considerable population. Many of the students could not have university education without going to Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Vizianagaram. To provide education facilities for the students of this town and nearby places and to meet the demand for admission and to provide real education and maintain good standards in educational institutions Former Cabinet Minister and Oppoisition Leader of Legislative Council in A.P., Sri Dadi Veerabhadra Rao came forward to establish a trust called “ The Sarada Educational Trust” in March 1993. The aims of the trust is to start colleges both for general education and technical education and to open hospitals, to provide medical aid to the needy. Sri Dadi Veerabhadra Rao garu is the Honorary Chairman of the trust.The first in the series is Dadi Veerunaidu College. This college is the brain child of Sri Veerabhadra Rao garu, a worthy grand-son of a worthy grand-father Sri Dadi Veerunaidu garu on whose name the college has been established in August 1993. Sri Veerunaidu garu served the people of Anakapalle for over 40 years in the capacity of Municipal Counsellor and Municipal Chairman.Under the chairmanship of professor K.C.Reddy, the then professor of Economics, Andhra University, Visakhapatnm a team of affiliation committe visited the college and satisfied with the facilities available and the Vice-Chancellor was pleased to grant affiliation to start this Degree College with a number of combinations in B.Sc., and B.A., Degree Courses with effect from 30-08-1993. Thus, the Dadi Veerunaidu College came into existence from August, 1993 with a student strength of 120 and with 11 Lecturers. Sri K.Narasimha Rao retired Principal of A.M.A.L.College was appointed as Principal of this College.In 1995 Chemistry, Botany and Zoology group was started. Later Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics and Computer Science , Chemistry, Bio Chemistry and Bio technology Combinations are opened in B.Sc., Degree and B.Com., Computers and B.Com., General Degree Course and Master of Computer Applications, M.Sc.,(Computer Science), M.Sc., Physics and M.Sc., Organic Chemistry were started at Post – Graduate level.

Computer Laboratory

Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e-resource center, which provides access to e-resources among other things.

Library

Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full-text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.

Canteen

The College campus has a spacious and well-ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.

Seminar Rooms

The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.
