Set up in 1968, Dr. V. S. Krishna Government Degree College, (at that point non-Autonomous) set up in 1968, was initiated by His Excellency Sri. Khandubhai K. Desai, Governor of Andhra Pradesh on twelfth December 1968. The College was moved from the University Campus to Visakha valley zone which is 3 KMs from the present premises in 1969. Attributable to unmistakable fascination appeared by District Collectors Sri C. Arjuna Rao IAS, and Sri K. V. Rao, IAS who aided in procuring land, the school was moved absolutely to its own and perpetual premises in Maddilapalem in 1980-81. Named after the famous educationist, previous Vice-chancellor of Andhra University and previous Chairman of the UGC,Dr.Vasireddy Sri Krishna, the College developed into a Nodal Institution and a District Resource Center for Visakhapatnam District. The ambit of the school is augmented with the presentation of PG Courses in 2003. The school was exceptionally perceived by Andhra University as a Research Center in 2011.The College is situated in Maddilapalem, Visakhapatnam in a grounds spread over a region of Acs.6.75. Subsidiary to Andhra University, it is a Co-instructive Institution offering both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Courses with an all out understudies quality of 1929 comprising of 1019 young men and 910 young lady understudies.
