Dasmesh Girls College, an eternal link in the immortal chain of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Educational Trust, Chak Alla Baksh, Mukerian was established in December, 2000. It is an institution where learning is a religious habit. It aims at imparting value-based education. This seat of learning has been enunciating the gospels of Guru Gobind Singh in particular and the message of humanity in general.The custodians in the field of education and the great philanthropists of the area got their dream materalised when they came forward with their mission of establishing the institution in the cradle of nature. The growth of the College became phenomenal when they contributed their might alongwith S. Prakash SIngh Badal, the then Chief Minister, who showered his bounteous blessings on it on December 21, 2000. Since then this institution is inculcating the code of discipline and morality among students.The college combines a commitment to teaching excellence with extensive sports and cultural opportunities. The academic and cultural activities are focused around inculcating a strong sense of commitment to nationalist i.e social and aesthetic values. Seminars, workshops, conferences and exhibitions arc a regular feature of its UG / PG Departments. The institution is making every possible effort to uplift the poor and down-trodden section of the area by educating their women folk and encouraging them to realize their potential to face mind – boggling situations of the globalized world.Dasmesh Girls College is housed in spacious pollution-free,picturesque and lush-green campus at a convenient distance from the town. A sense of splendor, beauty, discipline and academic excellence pervades the corridors of the campus.At present, the College is having four-storeyed blocks, viz., Arts cum Administrative Block,Mata Gujri Block ,Mata Sundri Block and Bhai Gurdas Block . The college has four sophisticated computer labs, a language lab, Psychology lab, Mathematics lab, a Physics lab, a Chemistry lab, a Zoology lab, a Botony lab, Conference Room, Seminar hall and Smart class roomswith all modern infrastructure required for extending quality-education to the students. College library is the life and soul of this institution. It is fully computerized for various operations viz., Acquisition of books, cataloguing, classification, transaction (issue and return), enquiry etc.This college is being managed by the experienced members of the committee. Under the innovative leadership of its Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Karamjit Kaur, herself a dazzling luminary in the field of education, this college is marching from strength to strength.The College is progressing by leaps and bounds . The visit of the NAAC peer team proved to be a boon for the college . The college is Accrediated ‘A’ Grade by NAAC which has further boosted its credibility in the region .The College has been awarderd Best NSS Unit among the Colleges in the state of Punjab . Computer Laboratory

Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.

Library

Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.

Canteen

The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.

Seminar Rooms

The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.
