Guru Gobind Singh College of Education is situated in Giddarbaha. For the upliftment of youth education, a good teacher training institution was a need of time in this rural area. From this point of view Guru Gobind Singh Society decided to establish an institution to fulfill the requirement of good studies in this backward area. The institution is named after 10th Guru of Sikh religion Guru Gobind Singh Ji.Guru Gobind Singh College of Education is a religious body which stands for very high principles. It is developed to the highest service of humanity at large and even to the sub human kingdoms. The chief work of the institution is the development of high character, life of trust worthiness, service and sacrifice in all relations.The College is located on Malout-Bathinda, G.T. Road, Giddarbaha. The College building is tastefully designed and bears a unique architectural grandeur. It is housed in a spacious building consisting of commodious and airy classrooms, well-equipped computer lab with Wi-Fi internet facility, the college has well equipped Resource Centres of Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Educational Technology and Languages. The College has well stocked library with latest books, journals and periodicals with open access system. The campus provides very beautiful view, well maintained and spacious lawn. The Campus has well prepared playground of Track and Field, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Badminton, Handball etc. The Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, Giddarbaha, which is still in its nurturing stages and only eighteen years old, is proud to reveal its humble achievements and activities. Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.
