Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, laid the foundation stone of Delhi Bhawan Kendra on March 31. Delhi Kendra opened on his May 16, 1957. What began as a modest initiative by visionaries has now grown into a worldwide network of 114 centers. We have 7 centers in India and 7 centers abroad. In 2002, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan received the President of India's highest honor, the Gandhi Peace Award, for its significant contribution to education and the promotion of peace and harmony among all faiths and communities.
