Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering & Technology  was established in ten April 2011. it's the Second regime institute of Himachal Pradesh that is found at Pragatinagar Village granuloma, Teh. Kotkhai, Distt. Shimla on the bank of stream Giri Ganga concerning sixty klick from Shimla on Shimla Rohru National main road. Presently 3 disciplines has been running below identical roof i.e B.Tech., polytechnic institute and that i.T.I. B.Tech presently running 2 courses i.e applied science & Engineering and physical science & Communication Engineering every with the intake of sixty three students. the polytechnic institute presently offers 3 courses i.e pc Engineering, physical science & Communication Engg. and Electrical Engg. every with the intake of forty students. I.T.I is presently running four courses i.e Electrical, physical science, Fitter and motorcar Mechanic every with the intake of twenty-one students.

To provide worth based mostly Technical education that drill life long learning skills, leadership qualities and results in analysis in current technologies that benefits world community and mother nature at large.
