* A aspirant must have cleared post-graduate (PG) degree or any equivalent of minimum duration of 2 years from a UGC recognized Indian or foreign university in respective discipline with a score of minimum 55% or any equivalent CGPA. A 5% relaxation in the score for SC/ST/OBC i.e minimum of 50% in PG degree or any equivalent CGPA is allowed.

* Online Entrance Exam of Sharda University followed by a round of personal interviews.

* Aspirants with a valid selection from NET / GATE / SET / UET / any other equivalent exam conducted by GOI accredited agency (to be decided by the selection committee) are exempted from the entrance exam and get preference in the selection. M.Phil. course degree holders from UGC accredited universities are also exempted from entrance exams.

* Entrance Exam followed by an interview round shall be conducted twice in a year normally in months of June and December. The weightage for the entrance exam and interview shall be 70% and 30% respectively. Only those candidates securing at least 50% in theory and 50% in the interview separately shall be considered for admission. 

* Aspirants with M.Phil. course Degree or any equivalent degree from any other institute or university recognized by UGC or qualified with fellowship or scholarship offered by the University or National and International Agency / NET / GATE score will be exempted from the entrance exam. However such aspirants will have to appear for the Interview, along with the aspirants who qualified for the entrance exam. 

* Foreign aspirants who fulfill eligibility criteria will be admitted after an online test and Interview round. 

* Such persons who are in regular employment in Academic institutions, Research Institute or Corporate or Industry or Public Undertaking or Government Sector, at a level not less than the level equivalent to Assistant Professor, and having 5 years of experience will be eligible for the admission through specially conducted entrance exam followed by interview round as per the criteria
