In 1921 Brahma Charya Ashram Trust was built up by Param Pujya swami Dwaraka Duttaji Maharaj in Indore-The nagri of Maa Ahilya, Initially ayurveda course was controlled by this trust. 

In the year 1964 this course got associated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore (M.P.) India and the degree course was begun by the college. By the earnest exertion of the staff and pioneers of the express, the Madhya Pradesh Government assumed control over this establishment in the year 1972 and the organization named as GOVT. ASHTANG AYURVED COLLEGE-Indore. In the year 1998, for better advancement it got the status of Autonomous from state govt., and named as GOVT. AUTO. ASHTANG AYURVED COLLEGE. 

The school is arranged at Lokmanya Nagar. which is only 5 Km away from the Main Bus Stand and Indore railroad station, The school have a decent foundation in its own 4½ sections of land of premises. The school is pleased to have a recently developed best in class Administrative structure, Hospital (OPD) building, scholastic and departmental structure, Pharmacy, Hostel, Library, home grown nursery, sports, ground and so forth. 

This foundation has finished its radiant 88 years in administration of Ayurveda and the researchers went out from this organization are rendering their Services to the general population of various pieces of the state and the nation too.
