S. Kula Women’s College was established in the year 1981 under the foundership of Sharva Shri Sanasam Kula Singh. It was registered under the Societies of Registration Act, 1860 with an initial objective to disseminate knowledge of higher education to the women especially in the rural areas of Nambol under Bishnupur District of the State of Manipur. Located at Nambol, 15 km from the Imphal city on the southern side along the Tiddim Road (NH- No 150), S. Kula Women’s College has since progressed to become one of the top performing colleges in Manipur. The college is affiliated to the Manipur University in 1987 and recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act in 1996. The college has grown impressively over the years from its humble beginnings as a small private college offering courses upto P.U. level with a few subjects to being a college with remarkable progress with an impressive infrastructure and offering several value added courses like B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Food Processing Technology, Bachelor of Computer Application, 12 Career Oriented Courses in the subjects relevant to socio-economic needs, Foundation and Certificate Courses in Human Rights & Duties Education, Human Development and Women’s Studies to be able to achieve the mission of women empowerment and gender equity. The college was conferred “Colleges with Potential for Excellence” award by the UGC in the year, 2006, and subsequently the college could achieve NAAC Grade “B++” in 2012, as a first of its kind in Manipur. The college has represented the State of Manipur at the Digital Launch Programme of RUSA inaugurated by the Honb’le HRD Minister Prakash Javedakar form Delhi on 17 April 2017. The college is now a full-fledged Government college under the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur since 2019. Earlier it was a Government Aided college (since 2011) run under the management of a Governing Body.

Girls Hostel : The College provides Hostel Facility with limited seats. The students accommodated in the Hostel should be under the Supervision of a Warden with the assistance of a Hostel Superintendent. Priority for admission of students in the Hostel is given to the students coming outside the state and sports talented persons.

Gym : The College has a separate multi-gym room where a 16 station multi-gym is installed. In the multi-gym, the students can undergo all types of physical exercises. Joggers and Cycles are also available.

Sports : The college has a playfield of Football and Hockey. The college has also a Basket Ball and a Volley Ball Court. The college has adequate games and sports equipment.

Library : The College has a two-storied Library Building equipped with well-stocked Books, Journals, Magazines, and Periodicals. Books covering various subjects are available for the issue. An efficient system of turn over is being implemented which ensures a regular intake of the latest reading materials. The Library is under the supervision of an experienced and Qualified Librarian. The Library is automated with the SOUL software Network Version. Adequate number of Computers with Internet facilities are available in the Library. The Library also maintains an Information Centre.

Laboratories : The College has well furnished and well equipped modernized Laboratories. Microtechnique methods of analysis are introduced in the Laboratories. The Gas Chromatograph room, Culture rooms, Bioinformatics Centre are fitted with Air Conditioned Equipment.

Transport Facility : The college has a transport facility for students and staff.

I.T Infrastructure : The College has Air Conditioned with Well Equipped Computer Laboratories. The college has campus Networking with Local Area Network (LAN) with connectivity through ISDN, BroadBand 512 kbps unlimited, and TULIP.

Cafeteria : The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
