Punjab College of Education was established by Gyan Jyoti academic and financial aid Society in 2005. the school is recognized by NCTE Jaipur and is attached to Punjabi University, Patiala. 

It is running below the diligent and dynamic leadership of S. Nirmal Singh, Chairman of the establishment, with a farsighted vision to create this establishment together of the centers of excellence in teacher education.In the year 2007-08, E.T.T. course was additional within the College and was approved by NCTE, Jaipur and attached to SCERT, Punjab, within the same year another unit of a hundred seats for B.Ed was approved by NCTE Jaipur. 

Thus creating a complete of two hundred seats for B.Ed course, fifty seats for M.Ed and E.T.T. course severally.
