S.V.N. College of Education Admission

This is the first college of Education in HP accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) the appex body of UGC India for the Quality and Excellence in Higher Education.S.V.N. College of Education, Tarkwari came into existence by the efforts of S.V.N. Educational Society (Hamirpur) and the courtesy of H.P. Government, H.P. University and NCTE Jaipur. The college started functioning from Oct. 3rd 2000.S.V.N. College of Education, Tarkwari is located at a distance of about 25 km from Hamirpur. It is about 12 km from Jahu on Hamirpur road and 20 km from Sarkaghat. It can be reached from most of the places by first coming to Bhota, Hamirpur or Jahu as is suitable to an individual. From these places there are buses for Tarkwari after every 15 or 20 minutes. There is regular bus service to the place from all important stations like Mandi, Shimla, Una and Hamirpur.

The college is housed in its own three storied spacious building with sufficient number of rooms comprising classrooms, laboratories, library, Assembly hall, common room administrative office, staff room and sports room.The college has a well-equipped Library with large number of standard books, both on education and on general subjects. It has a spacious reading room. College subscribes to most important magazines, journals and number of newspapers. There are encyclopedia on Education besides other reference books. It is managed by a well qualified librarian (M.Lib.).

The college is proud of very good computer laboratory which has sufficient number of computers and allied equipment. Computer training with basic languages is provided to all students by a computer teacher. Practical teaching on computer is given to each student. Computer trainers are qualified computer experts with vast experience of concerned area."

Library

The college provides excellent Library and reading room facilities in an area of about 1200 sq ft. with over 8000 books and 34 national and international journals. A photocopier facility is also available for the students. The library has been facilitated with electronic media viz. C.D.’s, online journals, etc.

Laboratories

The institute has a teacher training institute that has well equipped educational technology cum work experience lab. The IT lab comprises of 26 computers & one LCD Projector, all modern electric and electronic devices viz OHP, TV, DVD player, CD’s on different subjects microphone, amplifier. The Psychological lab of the institute consists of a large number of psychological tests and other types of equipment necessary to measure different psychological variables. The colleges have a Language learning lab well equipped for 30 students.

I.T Infrastructure

The institute provides courses related to Information Technology (I.T.) as BCA with well-equipped I.T. labs comprises 20 computers & one LCD Projector, all modern electric and electronic devices.

Boys Hostel

The college provides separate hostel facilities around the campus for boys with all modern amenities such as geyser, provisions for computer, telephone, television, refrigerator, etc.

Girls Hostel

The college provides separate hostel facilities around the campus for girls with all modern amenities such as geyser, provisions for computer, telephone, television, refrigerator, etc.

Cafeteria

The college has Canteen and messes are provided with modern kitchens to prepare tasty and nutritious food and purified water provided in the canteen and mess with hospitality.

Sports

The institute owns a spacious playground of around 2035 sq. Mts. suitable for all outdoor games like basketball, badminton, and Kabaddi, etc. The institute has a separate sports room having all types of sports paraphernalia for indoor and outdoor games.

S.V.N. College of Education Placements

50% placement were placed. The lowest was Rs Rs 10,80,000 and the highest was Rs 1200000/-. 100% of students got internships from this course and in many hospitals like AIIMS.

About 40% of students got placed in our batch. Placements are according to the NEET result. We are recruited by the hospitals for doing an internship. We have to give NEET PG exam to get a seat for postgraduation. We are behaving as interns.
