A school was born in a small town Bandel, a very old Portuguese colony, and 40 km away from Kolkata, West Bengal. India.
There were six children. They were unlike other children. The community deprived them of their personal, social and emotional needs and rights. They were kept out of sight.
The meaning of life was very different for them.
A group of social activists felt that the society was self centred, indifferent and not just to all its members. They had neither any resource nor any technical expertise. But they had a dream. A dream of a more sympathetic society, just and inclusive of all irrespective of the state of their abilities.
