About of Sikkim International University

Sikkim University was established in 2003 and amended in 2005. The University has 10 affiliated colleges in Sikkim. It has six schools namely the School of Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Languages and Literature, Human Sciences, Professional Studies, and 32 departments. The institute was established with the aim of providing higher education in various fields such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Communication, and Literature. The institute has been providing quality education in the form of UG, PG, and doctoral courses.

Sikkim University was born with the basic objective of strengthening the close link of education to skill development and making the youth of Sikkim educated, skilled, and employable, giving them the capacity to harness diverse opportunities both within and outside Sikkim. This will also create more job opportunities for our youth, thus solving the growing unemployment in the State.

WiFi

The university campus is equipped with WiFi making it ICT friendly.

Computer Labs

University computer labs are spaces used for teaching and learning and are equipped with computers and software programs that support academic work. Similarly to classrooms, they may also be equipped with audio-visual equipment and other resources that support effective teaching and learning. Students can use these labs to complete assignments, conduct research, and access online resources.

Transportation

The university has transportation facilities to cater to the needs of students and faculty.

Parking Lots

University parking lots are spaces for students who have cars and commute to the university. These parking lots are located on campus or near campus.

The university has a canteen for employees and students.
