ADMISSIONGirijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati field was based on seven Gregorian calendar month 2006 because of the 1st non-governmental engineering institute in state beneath the patronage of the Shrimanta sitar player Academy Society. Ever since its beginning, the institute’s aim has been to ascertain a virtuously sound instructional system, that not solely produces competent professionals however additionally wonderful people in general contributory towards the welfare of the Society.
This Institute was established approvingly from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and permission from the authorities. Initially, GIMT was connected to the oldest and most supposed University within the State i.e. Gauhati University. Since August 2013, the institute has been connected to ‘Assam Science & Technology University.
The first session of the Institute commenced on thirteen Gregorian calendar month 2006 with 240 students in four disciplines resulting in the Bachelor’s degree in physics & Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), Applied Physics and Instrumentation (AEI), computing and Engineering (CSE) and knowledge Technology (IT). 3 additional college man courses in technology (ME), applied science (EE) and applied science were added within the years 2007, 2008 and 2014 severally.
The first post-graduate course in Business Administration resulting in an award of M.B.A degree was introduced within the year 2008. In 2009, the second postgraduate course in laptop Application resulting in an award of M.C.A degree commenced at the institute.
