ADMISSIONS. K. Roy College, Katlicherra was established on 3rd March 1994. It is one of the premier institutions of higher education providing quality education to the students especially those hailing from economically backward areas of South Hailakandi.The Govt. of Assam has allotted 15 Bighas 11 Kathas 06 Chatak of Land for the establishment of the College. The College started its journey with only Higher Secondary (Arts) 1st Year Class in the session 1994-95, while keeping the provision for opening of TDC (Arts) section in the successive years. The College received permission to start TDC (Arts) 1st Year Class on 21.07.1995 and it was affiliated to Assam University, Silchar in the year 2002. Eventually the College received Permanent Affiliation in the year 2010.The College got recognized under Section 12 (B) & 2 (f) of the UGC Act 1956 in the year 2011. Next, in 2013, the Institution was provincialised by the Director of Higher Education Department, Govt. of Assam.
The College offers Three Year Degree Course (both Pass & Honours) in Arts Stream. Pass Course is covered in the subjects of Bengali, Economics, Elective Bengali, English, History, Persian, and Philosophy. Honours is facilitated in such subjects as English, Economics, Political Science, History, and Bengali.
In the field of distance education, S. K. Roy College Study Centre, under Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati has been serving since 2008. Courses offered include BA (semester system), D. El. Ed. (2-year course), etc.
