BAMS Overview

BAMS is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Ayurveda, which is a traditional system of medicine originated in India. It is a five-and-a-half-year course that includes four and a half years of academic study and one year of mandatory internship. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is the first degree in the Ayurvedic medical and surgical system, which has been treating humanity for thousands of years. The duration of this course is around 4.5 years plus a 1-year internship with live practical exposure.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.

The most basic criteria for admission to the BAMS course is qualifying for the 10+2 examination in a science stream. In 12th grade, the candidate should score 50% in disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and biology.

The candidate must pass a national level entrance examination, such as NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test).

The candidate is chosen based on a standardized counselling process and overall merit, which is computed using the total number of points gained in the qualifying examination (12th grade) and the cut-off points obtained in the admission exams.

B.A.M.S. is an undergrad Ayurvedic course which is granted after effective consummation of a five and a half years program or course that covers the investigation of the coordinated arrangement of current drug and conventional Ayurveda.
