The St.Thomas College of Arts and Science was established in 1999 as a co-educational institution which is governed by the St.Thomas Orthodox Syrian Cathedral Parish Trust of St.Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Broadway. The Patron of our college is His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Catholicose of the East and Malankara Metropolitan. The founder Chairman was His Grace Dr. Yakoob Mar Irenios and the present Chairman is His Grace Gee Varghese Mar Philaxenos, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Madras of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.The college is governed by its board of trustees and administrated by its executive headed by His Grace Gee Varghese Mar Philaxenos-Chairman, Rev.Fr.Anish Mathew-Vice Chairman, Mr. Biju Chacko-Secretary, and Mr. Alex Abraham-Treasurer.Dr. Rev. Francis Soundararaj (1999 - 2002) as its first Principal laid the successful foundation of this institution under his able leadership. The College was started under his guideship with 5 courses (B.Com., BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Visual Communication & BBA) affiliated wit the University of Madras. The second principal Dr. (Mrs.) S. Teresa Jane assumed office as principal in 2002. She was the principal of our college from 2002 - 2003. Dr. (Mrs.) Hemalatha Sundara Kumar was the third principal of our college from 2003. The college became a Post Graduate institution in 2003 with the introduction of M.Com., M.Sc. Admission Process of St. Thomas College 

St Thomas College offers B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. courses under a number of specializations. B.A. is offered in two different subjects, whereas, B.Sc. is offered with eight different subjects. In addition, the college also offers B.Com in two subjects along with other specializations like BCA, BVC, BMMC, BBA, and B.Voc. All the UG courses offered are for a period of 3 years. Admission to the UG courses are based on merit of the students at 10+2 level. The last date for the receipt of application form will be 15 days from the declaration of the result of the Higher Secondary Examinations of the Kerala State.For Admission in the B.A. Functional English, B.Com. Computer Application and B.Sc. Psychology, the candidates need to sit for an entrance test.The selection to MSW will be based on qualifying examination marks, entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.The selection to M.Sc. Computer Science (Aided & Self Financing) will be based on qualifying examination marks & entrance test.An entrance test shall be conducted for those candidates whose core subject is not English and are looking forward to pursue PG in M.A. English course.The application fees is Rs.150/- for General Candidates and Rs. 100/- only for SC/ST candidates including processing charge (Bank charges excluded).The candidate needs to visit the official website - stthomas.ac.in and click on the link - “Admission 2021”. Then do fill in the application form with all the details required along with relevant scanned documents.After entering all the data, the candidate can pay the fee either through online or chalan directly to the SBI Bank.You need to take out a print out of the hard copy which needs to be only submitted at the time of interview and not before that.

St. Thomas College Placements

All students in the college becomes eligible for placement drives from 5th semester. A lot of companies like wipro, cognizant, deloitte, etc. approaches the students for placements. A basic package is usually given by all companies which averages to 2 lpa. Almost 20% students gets placed and i am also planing for it.The placement cell is active and good. The placement drives start in the 5th semester and a lot of companies like Deloitte, tcs, bosch, cognizant etc are coming to the placement drives at the college. The average salary package is 2 lakhs per annum and the highest one is 8 lakhs per annum. Almost 25 % of students get placements every year. My plan too is to secure such a job.From the second last semester of UG and PG students can attend campus placement calls and interviews, there is a separate club for placements that will make students able to attend the placement calls, the club will help them to achieve their dream through campus placement. So many companies like Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, federal banks, syndicate banks, etc.. hire students through campus placement. The percentage of campus placement is increasing per year average placement is more than 70%. The average package is more than 10k per month, the maximum package is 1 lakh per month. After getting a degree students can choose either placement or higher studies.The college has been successful in demonstrating their placements offers for each and every student. The placement cell becomes active from 5th sem onwards. About 68% of students, so far have achieved placements. Major corporate companies such as wipro, MRF, BYJUs, ZDF solutions, infosys, TCS and banks like federal bank and South Indian bank comes forwards in seeking excellent workers with lots of potential.
