Government Law College is the only law college in Churu district. The Government of Rajasthan started law courses at the Government Lohia University Campus in 1979. In 2005, the Bar Council of India declared law a full-time course of study. In the same year, Government Law College was established as an independent university and started functioning from some rooms of Lohia University itself. A separate building of the college which is BCI. To meet the criteria, the state government has allocated a budget of Rs 4,038 crore. The huge building took two years to complete. The new building of the university was inaugurated on September 21, 2023, and academic activities began on November 5, 2017. Furthermore, during the 2007-2008 session, a University Development Commission was established and within its framework a privately funded Master of Laws (LL. M) degree program was launched. Approximately 450 students study at the university. Legal aid centre, employment support centre, youth development centre, and free coaching classes for competitive exams are conducted within the university. The university library has a collection of approximately 7,000 books. So far, 40 students from the university have been selected to serve in the judiciary and have earned a Master of Laws degree from 2007 to date. 16 students have passed her NET-SET exam, many students have been elected to the post of assistant professor by the Civil Service Commission, and many students have continued research activities. It is the university's endeavor that the students admitted here not only become advocates but also bring glory to families and the university in government and non-government sectors.
