Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) is a public state university that offers PG, Integrated M.Sc and Ph.D. courses in the various specializations under its three constituent colleges. Some of the courses are as MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, M.P.Ed, MSW, Integrated M.Sc, MBA, BFA and Diploma, and lastly, Ph.D. courses.
For admission in the PG programs, candidates have to appear in the VSU PGCET entrance test. Final selection will be done only after the counseling process. Students are given admission in the integrated programs based on the marks scored in the previous examination. For admission in the PhD program, candidates have to qualify in the APRCET followed by an interview. The application form can be filled out online followed by the submission at the university office in person or through post.
VSU has a dedicated placement cell that aims to provide students with jobs in top multinational companies. The university provides candidates with placement assistance through employment and entrepreneurship counseling. VSU has designed a very economical fee structure for the student where the regular course candidates are given some government aid (scholarship).

VIKRAMA SIMHAPURI UNIVERSITY, NELLORE came into being, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of the people of the Nellore district, re-christened Sri Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district since 2008, by Act No. 29 of 2008 enacted by the Legislature of the State of the Andhra Pradesh and published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette on the 24th September 2008. Erstwhile Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr Rajesekhar Reddy has laid stone for the construction of University buildings at 83.33 acres allotted site on the National Highway No 5. The University is located just 10 KMS from the main town of Nellore.
Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission conferred recognition on the degrees awarded by the VikramaSimhapuri University under Section 22 of the UGC Act vide its communication No.F.9.2/2010 (CPP-I/PU) dt.20 January 2010. Subsequently, the university is also sanctioned 2(f) and 12 (b) Status by the University Grants Commission. The University is admitted as a full member into the Association of Commonwealth Universities with its executive office in London, UK. The University is now one among 500 institutions across the world for the having membership in the association. This provides the University to become a global player and an active academic associate in the trans-global activities of the immediacy and zest undertaken by the association from time to time.
