What is C-DAC
Centre for Development of Advance Computing (C- DAC) is a scientific society of Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India. Our initiative started in January 1996 under the brand name of Program for Advancing Computer Education (PACE). This program offers each and every person an opportunity to make the most of computing technology without having much technical background. This has been one of the first deployments, which has met with extraordinary success across all sections of India.
C-DAC GIST has been the pioneer in developing and proliferating the use of Indian languages on computers.This technology offers solutions to a wide range of requirements in the areas such as publishing and priming, word processing, office application suites etc Also provides language interfaces for popular third party software on various operating platforms, electronic mail, machine translation, language learning, video and television and multimedia content in Indian languages.Today we have a national presence with around 260 training centers throughout the country.C-DAC has a network of 80 ATCs in Gujarat state. Most of our centers are in rural environments has been instrumental in providing Multilingual IT training to students in such regions.We design client specific modules that help the clients to upgrade the skills of their employees in the desired areas.Read More at www.cdac.in

Our Vision
To proliferate the use of Indian languages on IT platform through a well-structured infrastructure at local level, to the mass across Gujarat, targeted towards Urban Poor Youth so as to build a IT workforce for local languages with the help of Multilingual Technology tools(GIST) and provide a platform for self-employment generation.
