Established in 1946, Karimganj College is one of the pioneering Colleges of Assam, imparting education in Science, Arts & Commerce. Situated on the bank of Kushiara River demarcating Indo- Bangladesh Border, the College is playing a significant role for last six decades in the field of Higher Education of the region. Today, it is one of the leading colleges under Assam University. The college has been reaccredited with ‘B’ grade with CGPA 2.78 in 4.0 point scale by NAAC in the year 2010. It is a great pleasure to mention that the college has been selected as one of the two IT-institutes of Assam under NEC programme and accordingly, the college is offering two degree programmes viz. B.Sc. (Computer Science) and BCA affiliated to Assam University from the academic Session 2005-06. The College has also introduced B.Sc. Honours Programme in Biotechnology from the session 2006-07. The college welcomes the new generation of students who enter this institution with hearts vibrating with hopes and aspirations. Library

All the bonafide students, teachers, and employees of the college are the members of the library. Textbooks are issued from the college library to the students, teachers, and employees of the college.

Guest Room/Waiting Room

The College has only one unit of the quarter for Office staff and one unit of the quarter for IV grade staff. Professor's Quarters Haflong Govt. The college has 3 multistoried buildings (blocks) for the accommodation of the professors. Each block consists of 6 units i.e., the college has altogether 18 number of professors quarters. These multi-storied buildings were constructed during the 90th decade. The occupants of the Professor's quarters are the teaching staffs belong to different districts of Assam.

Boys Hostel

The college has one Boys’ hostel situated near the college campus. Hostel seats are allotted considering the merit and distance of college from his home, inside and outside the district. Application for admission into the hostel is to be made to the Principal through the Superintendent of the hostel in the prescribed form. Admission to and conduct of the hostel is governed by the hostel rules. Hostel remains closed during summer and Puja vacation.

Girls Hostel

A Girl’s hostel is constructed for the accommodation of 40 students, and another hostel is under construction funded by UGC. This hostel will accommodate 50 students. Dr. Ranjushree Goswami, Associate Professor, and HOD, Assamese is appointed as Girl's Hostel Superintendent.

Cafeteria

The College has a canteen facility. The students and the college faculties are provided beverages and various food items at reasonable prices. During college hours, the entry of outsiders is restricted in the College canteen.

Parking Facility

The College has a huge all-weather parking area for the vehicles of students as well as staff members.

Convenience Store

The College provides Xerox facilities to the students and faculties at concessional rates. Only the College community can take advantage of this facility. There are a small book and stationery store within the campus. The students can purchase text and other

Karimganj College Placements

Placements are better and job opportunities are confirmed.Placements are made and students gives their best too . By studying in that college the students can score the good marks and they can step to placementor top .Many of the students are Doctor Engineer and many more who studied from this college.

The placements in my department are average, we have a few companies coming to the university for recruitment. Our department has better placements than the rest of the departments as we have good companies approaching us for recruitment.College placement at time we passed out was quite nice and we were offered good roles in top companies. The companies come at the campus is in the month of January and the process lasts till march, till then most of the students are placed.There were no placement cell but we were regularly updated about the openings. I was research oriented student and spent most of my time in the lab. However, a regular counseling about our career used to be provided by the staff and HOD.No placements or internships were offered during our time. The faculty members help you with the career aspects of your course. But the students have found jobs on their own in various fields like Interpreter, Lead Features Editor, Content Editor, Journalist, Bilingual Call Centre, Customer Service Representative, Letter translator, among others such. Sadly the college did not offer any such facilities. Therefore the students had to be self dependent for their jobs. Students found employment opportunities as Office Managers, Project Assistants, business analyst, Executive director, Independent consultant etc.
