Ataur Rahman college of education which is a out come of the dream of the philanthropist and educated personalities of the district of Barpeta ,Assam.

Late Ataur Rahman was one of the greatest soul and educationist of the state who was started his career as a professor in history  at Cotton College, Guwahati, Premier college of Assam. Latter on he joined in politics and became Member of Legislative Assembly from Jania,Assam for consecutive three terms.During his political career he rose to the position of Deputy Speaker of Assam Assemly and then state minister of Panchyat, Rural Development and Agriculture etc.He was also a great scholar and wrote many value able books to his credit .He has done enormous efforts for spreading of education among the weaker and poor people of the state in general and to this vast area of western part of Barpeta district in particular .

In largely attended public meeting in the year 2005, the was an anonymous resolution to start a teacher training college  at Udmari ,Kalgachia after the name of such a great son of the state.

The Government of Assam has accorded NOC  to the college on the recommendation SCRT and subsequently Guahati University also accorded permission to start the classes .

Now the managing committee has fulfilled all the required norms a acquiring recognition from NCTE, Bhuveneswar and waiting for the inspection.

At present, the Central Library is in a flourishing state with an intact about 14,000 titles, Textbooks, References, Theses, Encylopedia, Magazines, Journals, and newspapers.

1st semester to 5th Semester Company is ACCESSORIES 100 overs package we r made 40 to 100% I want to become A businessman.

Placements are very nice. Being one of the best and well known college in all of Assam, the students who pass from here are always in great demand. Specially in teaching line. Today I am a professor of history in one of the colleges in Assam.

The placement wing is active, companies like wipro, samsung, yamaha &Microsoft come here to hire students. The seniors helped us a lot in GDs, workshops, interview cracking skills, &personality development too for that matter.

No placements and what do thing should bcom students be placed. They get a very low package and after b.com 90% students don't opt for jobs so everybody needs to do a master degree so placements are not require if the college gives then i am not aware of the fact.

Our college provides with best job placements guaranteed provide if we perform well in our course. We have end number of options for job availability but for getting a better job we do need good marks.

Its good not very good but average. Basically it is an academic course so all try some professional course along with it so no need of placement.
