Eligibility Criteria
Course Duration
Full-time Ph.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years from the date of admission, including course-work and a maximum of six years. Part-time Ph.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of three and a half years from the date of admission, including course-work and a maximum of seven years.

Admission Criteria
Admissions are done on the basis the PhD Entrance Test (PET) - a written test conducted followed by a process of interview. Candidates qualified in NET/SLET/GATE/ M Phil etc will be exempted from the Entrance Test.
Entrance Test
The applicants for both the M.Phil. and Ph. D. programmes who fulfill the eligibility criteria must be put through the PhD Entrance Test (PET) - a written test conducted by the University followed by a process of interview.
