Chanakya National Law University is one of the best Law University in Patna, Bihar. It was established in 2006. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees courses in several specializations of law. It is recognized by UGC and Approved by Bar Council of India.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have passed (a) Master Degree from a recognised University in the concerned subject with a minimum of 55% marks or 50% marks in case of reserved candidates in the aggregate and (b) passed by securing minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the Ph.D. ENTRANCE TEST and followed by interview conducted by the University shall be eligible for Enrolment in the Ph.D. Programme.
- M.Phil degree or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with excellent academic background are also eligible to apply for PhD Admission.
Admission Procedure
Application Form can be downloaded from the website of the University (www.cnlu.ac.in) and submitted with relevant documents and Bank draft only of Rs. 5000/-(Rs. Five Thousand only) in favour of Registrar,lottery sambad Chanakya National Law University, Patna payable at Patna within stipulated date.
Candidate shall submit the following along with the application:
- An attested photocopy of LL.M., M. Phil. or P.G. Degree or PG Diploma with certificate of equivalence whichever is applicable, along with the marks sheet
- A certificate from the Head of the Institution / College / Department / Bar Council concerned testifying the length of service/practice, wherever required
PhD Fee Structure
- Fee for Entrance Test – Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only)
- Facilities Fee - Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only) Per Annum
- Library Fee - Rs. 7,000/- (Rupees Seven thousand only) Per Annum
- Library Deposit - Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) Refundable
- Course Work Fee (One Time) – Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only)
- Retention fee for every 6 months - Rs. 8,000/- (Rupees Eight thousand only)
Selection Criteria
- Selection will be merit-based and on the basis of rank in the Ph.D. entrance exam. Selected Candidates will be called for the interview round for the final selections. The final selected candidate list will come after the interview round. Candidates qualified in UGC NET and JRF are exempted from the entrance test.
Entrance Test
- Total Marks of Entrance Test and Interview – (150+50) = 200 Marks
- Research Aptitude +Research Methodology+ Research Design+ General English: 100 marks
- Subject specific: 50 marks
- Interview Marks: 50 Marks
- Qualifying Marks: Candidates securing 50% marks in Entrance Test (50 percent of 150 marks=75) will be eligible to appear for interview/interaction.
